Chayton and Camille first met as freshmen at Harbor High back in 2013, becoming closer junior year, and bonding over the fact that they both drove Jeep Cherokees. Outside of that they had very little in common.

The two officially started dating on May 31, 2015… or technically June 1st at 12:30am, but only because Chayton stayed past midnight after a family dinner, watching the first episode of Game of Thrones with Camille. That spring turned into a summer filled with drives up the coast, long beach days turned to bonfires, a spring break camping trip in Big Sur with friends, and finally, prom.

After high school, they entered four years of long distance - Camille at the University of Oregon, and Chayton splitting time between Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara, ultimately graduating from The Ohio State University. Despite the miles, they stayed close (lots of Facetiming), and when the world slowed down during the pandemic and Camille graduated, they decided to take the leap and move in together in Columbus, Ohio.

They spent two years building their little home (apartments)—cooking dinners, playing tennis, learning how to split chores, and continuing to grow up side by side. In May 2022, they moved back to Santa Cruz to be closer to the people and place they love most, and they’ve never been happier to be home.

Now, nearly 11 years later, they’re thrilled to celebrate this next chapter, surrounded by the people who’ve supported them from the start.
